Thanks so much for letting me be apart of saying goodbye. Charlie was one of the most honest, honorable and humble people I have ever known. Although I'm not the best in these situations I feel the need to put these words down so you'll remember not just my words but your dad's words " no free help!" Maybe one day soon you'll read those words, smile and not feel the pain you're feeling now. God blessed you with a wonderful dad and the world was blessed to have him. Hug your mom and family. Rejoice that he is no longer in pain and smiling down on us all. Sincerely Dave Dole.

To all whom reads this, I am Willie (Billy) Bonner, the youngest of the two remaining nephews my Uncle, Mr. Charlie B. McClain, has in Detroit, MI. Uncle Charlie, has always been, a strong positive inspiration in my life. From a snotty nose boy to the man I have become to this day. He taught me things, even when he was not attempting to teach. Even as a child about 9, 10 years of age, he showed me & taught me manly things. When everyone else, would tell me to go sit down or go outside and play, grown folks are talking. My Uncle Charlie, would come outside & say, "Come go with me nephew"! And I would always learn something or somethings. My Uncle Charlie, always treated me as a man and gave me the opportunity to do things, others my age in grown folks mind, kids, should not be doing. Like, driving his vehicle from Detroit, MI to Lakeland, FL and I was only 13yrs of age, had next to none, real driving experience and his "FAMILY" then, was my passengers, in the vehicle I was driving! He told me "You can do it nephew, just follow the tail lights on the bus I driving! " I guess, what I am saying, My Uncle Charlie, truly help inspire me to know, There is nothing on this planet, I can not accomplish, when I fix my mind to do it! I LOVE him, respected him, brag to my friends in Detroit, of My Uncle Charlie and there was nothing on this earth, I would not have done for him. I shall miss him! That's all I got to say.

Charlie was a great man. In twenty-five years I don't think I ever seen him down. He loved his family. Great friend, great father, great guy. He will be missed greatly. Prayers and love to his family and friends. The world lost a good one.
